Base balances now have a direct path into Canton. Lock assets on Base, receive wrapped versions in your Canton wallet. SEND.B, USDC.B, cbBTC.B, frxUSD.B. First set live now.

Bridge Base to Canton: SEND, USDC, cbBTC, and frxUSD Are Now Live

TL;DR: Send App now supports a direct bridge from Base to Canton.

Bridge SEND, USDC, cbBTC, or frxUSD from Base and receive SEND.B,

USDC.B, cbBTC.B, or frxUSD.B in your Send Canton wallet inside Send App.

Liquidity pools are planned for supported pairs next.

Selected Base assets can now bridge directly into Send App on Canton, bringing your Base balances into your Send Canton wallet, where sending, receiving, and swaps are already live.

The retail path onto Canton continues.

The first supported set is SEND, USDC, cbBTC (Coinbase Wrapped BTC), and frxUSD  (the Frax stablecoin), all from Base. The wrapped versions on Canton use a .B suffix for now: SEND.B, USDC.B, cbBTC.B, and frxUSD.B. Send plans to add more assets in later phases of the rollout.

The Retail Path Onto Canton

Canton was built for institutions first.

Send’s mission has been to bring retail in,  taking infrastructure designed for institutional settlement and making it usable for everyday people.

That continued with Send Canton Wallet: a dedicated Canton experience with its own wallet, transfers between Canton users, and swaps across CC, CUSD, and USDCx.

This bridge is the next step in that path.

Selected Base balances can now move directly into your Canton wallet.

How the bridge works

Your asset on Base gets locked. A wrapped version gets minted on Canton and lands in your Canton wallet inside Send App on Canton. The wrapped versions use a .B suffix for now, while final names are confirmed: SEND becomes SEND.B, USDC becomes USDC.B, cbBTC becomes cbBTC.B, frxUSD becomes frxUSD.B.

This is a lock-and-mint bridge: your Base asset is locked in a smart contract, and a 1:1 wrapped version is minted on Canton. No intermediary custody, no CEX.

From there, you can hold it, move it to another Canton wallet, or sit on it as a Canton-side position while more bridged assets arrive and liquidity pools for supported pairs are added.

The first four

Four assets ship in the first supported set:

SEND → SEND.B: the Send token, now bridgeable from Base onto Canton through the app.

USDC → USDC.B: Base USDC, bridged through Send and held on Canton as USDC.B.

cbBTC → cbBTC.B: Coinbase Wrapped BTC from Base, held on Canton inside Send.

frxUSD → frxUSD.B: Frax’s stablecoin, in the first set.

Send plans to add more assets in later phases of the rollout.

Why only four at launch

Starting with four assets keeps the launch easier to support and review. Opening the bridge to every Base assets on day one would mint dozens of wrapped tokens before pools, pairs, or use cases exist for them on Canton.

Here is why each asset is in the first set:

SEND is the Send token. Any path Send builds from Base into Canton has to start with its own token.

USDC is the dominant stablecoin on Base. Bringing it through gives Canton a route to the dollar most Base users already hold.

cbBTC is Coinbase Wrapped BTC, 1:1 backed by native BTC in Coinbase custody with public proof of reserves. It gives Canton a clean path to Bitcoin through a wrapper Base users already trust.

frxUSD is Frax’s stablecoin. It brings a DeFi-native dollar into the first set, alongside USDC.

The first four give Canton a clear starting set bridged from Base. At launch, the bridge moves these assets from Base onto Canton. Liquidity pools for supported pairs are planned to come next, once enough supply has bridged across and traders show up.

What it means for you

If you already hold SEND, USDC, cbBTC, or frxUSD  on Base, those balances now have a path into Send App on Canton through the bridge.

If you're already using Send  Canton Wallet, more retail assets are entering the app you already use. As more SEND, USDC, cbBTC, and frxUSD bridge across, the .B supply on Canton grows, and the liquidity pools planned for supported pairs have something to build on.

If you're Base-native and have never bothered with Canton, the bridge is the most direct way in through Send. Once you're on Send Canton Wallet, bridge SEND, USDC, cbBTC, or frxUSD across from Base, and start holding a Canton-side balance you can use as more bridged assets arrive and liquidity pools come online.

This bridge gives Base users a real first step into Send Canton Wallet and gives Canton Network users a clearer way for retail assets to arrive.
